The e-SC connector is designed for simple and fast field termination of Sumitomo's rectangular section FTTH drop cables, without polishing or adhesives. The heart of the e-SC is a pre-polished ferrule and a mechanical splice inside the connector body, plus a specially designed clamping system to grip the drop cable. Assembly of the e-SC requires only normal fibre preparation tools: a stripping tool for the drop cable, a fibre stripping tool, wipes and a fibre cleaver. No electrical power supply is needed to assemble e-SC
e-SC uses Sumitomo’s guide rail technology to help position the fibre into the connector, achieving a positive connection in the mechanical splice and low insertion loss termination.
e-SC is designed for compatibility with Sumitomo manufactured rectangular section drop cable.
